STATEMENTS

For me, painting is a way to transform first impressions of people into colors and shapes that make a portrait. Almost all of my paintings are space excluded (background consists of one or two colors), which contributes to the feeling of higher spiritual presence. It means that the basic knowledge of time-space should be reconsidered, as well as the mortality of the persons painted on the canvas. My artistic research is based on the influence of painters Lucian Freud and Kaye Donachie. They inspire me to persist in entering the spiritual space of the persons I paint. While creating artwork, my vulnerability and openness are easily noticeable so I use them as a tool to better understand myself. My  orthodox paintings focus on a teological theme, and are painted using contemporary icon painting techniques. They are vibrant in colors and delicate in details and bring a sense of tradition and spirituality to any home or place of worship. Paintings are hand-crafted to the highest standards, with the utmost attention to detail, to give a truly unique and special experience.
